People sometimes ask how I can found a graphic tee brand when I love suits so much. I find a suit genuinely beautiful — if I'm on vacation at a 5-star hotel and going out to a nice restaurant, I want to dress accordingly. It's never felt like a contradiction to me.
Two wardrobes, not two opposing values
A suit, for me, is a moment, an occasion, a form of respect for the place and the people you're with. A JaOcCo tee is something else: the everyday, going out, expressing yourself. It's not "dressed up" versus "casual," or "classic" versus "streetwear." It's complementary.
What that changes about how I think of a design
I think it's precisely because I love both registers that I never wanted JaOcCo to look like a typical streetwear brand, with a big logo that goes no further than "showing a brand." A graphic tee, to me, deserves the same intention as a well-cut suit: you choose it for what it says about you, not just what it covers.
The suit says: I respect this moment. The tee says: here's who I am, today, wherever I'm going. Both are deliberate choices. Neither is more authentic than the other.
